Murray Library

Early Mornings

On weekday mornings, the ground floor of the Murray Library and Starbucks open one hour before the rest of the building. The Library Services desk is closed during this time, and there is no access to the upper floors of the library.

Late Night Study

In the evenings, the Murray Library ground floor stays open for three hours after the rest of the library closes as part of the Late Night Study program, a partnership between the USSU and the University Library. The Library Services desk and Starbucks are closed during this time and there is no access to the upper floors of the library.

Access to the Murray Library ground floor is restricted to current students during Late Night Study hours. You must present your USask Student ID Card for entry. 

The Murray Library's ground floor can accommodate up to 200 people during extended hours and operates in association with the USSU Student Crew. Students from all colleges are welcome to use the resources and facilities on the ground floor of the Murray Library as a safe nighttime study space, including:

  • 8 bookable study rooms
  • Quiet study room (Room G3)
  • Individual and group seating
  • 18 desktop computers
  • 2 Black & White/Colour Printer/Photocopier/Scanners
  • Wireless internet access
  • Electrical and data outlets
  • Phone charging station
  • Access to the Assistive Technology Room (for students registered with AES)

Extended Hours - Murray Ground Floor

  • Mon-Fri: 8 to 9 am and 9 pm to midnight
  • Sat-Sun: 6 to 9 pm

Education and Music Library

A pilot extended hours program is running in the Education and Music Library during Winter Term 2022. On Mon-Thurs evenings, the Education and Music Library space stays open for four hours after the Library Services desk closes. 

Access to the Education and Music Library is restricted to current students during extended hours. You must present your USask Student ID Card for entry and a security guard is present 

The Education and Music Library can accommodate 100 people during extended hours. Students from all colleges are welcome to use the resources and facilities as a safe nighttime study space including: 

  • 3 bookable study rooms 
  • Individual and group seating 
  • 19 desktop computers 
  • 1 Black & White/Colour Printer/Photocopier/Scanner 
  • Multi-Media Editing Station 
  • Wireless Internet access 
  • Electrical and data outlets 
  • Phone charging station 

Extended Hours - Education and Music Library

  • Mon-Thurs: 5 to 9 pm
